Quote:Found this 1923 Buffalo nickel, a 2022-P WDDR-001, a 1944-P War Nickel, and a handful of other interesting nickels in the last two weeks. Outstanding! Quote: I wonder if anyone has checked the progress of this thread towards the goal of 25,000 rolls searched? If I recall correctly, this was the OP's goal, not for the topic. I remember adding the "All Searchers Welcome" when it was moved to the then newly created CRH forum.

Nice find on the 1923, Brandmeister.
In my experience, any full date Buffalo before about 1929 is a good find.

No Buffalo nickels this box this time, but finding a dated mintmarked Buffalo nickel is pretty nice... And my last nickel box was not too bad, with the best three finds a semi-key 1942-D, a silver War Nickel 1945-D, an impaired proof 1961, and a possible impaired 1962 proof but not sure about that one The other nickels were: 1939, 1940-D, 1941, 1946-D, 1951-D (One year off ), 1952-S, 1953-S, 1954-D, 1956-D, 1957-D x3, 1958-D x2, 1959, and 1959-D x3. Along with five Canadian nickels: 1975, 1978, 1986 x2, and 1999. And I like to collect certain post-mint damage coins to see how people mess with coins and there were three in this box...

Found my 5th 1950-D nickel in my 277th box searched. Not the best example. Coin does look better in hand than in the pictures. I find it interesting that when I started CRH'ing nickels several years ago I was under the impression that the 1950-D was going to be the hardest to find in the wild. However, during that time I found 5 examples. But during that same period I found only 1 example of the 39-D, 43-D, and 44-S. I completed my first set of nickels CRH'ing last fall and am still working on sets 2 and 3.where I need those 3 dates I mentioned.

Hmm, where to begin with this last box? Can I say that this was even better than the last box? Family photo of the majority of the finds: Here is a rundown of the finds: Three Canadian, 1984, 1996, and 2000, Pre 1960 finds: 1939 x2, 1940 x2, 1941, 1946 x3, 1946-S, 1947 x2, 1947-S, 1948 x4, 1952, 1953-PDS, 1954 x2, 1954-D x2, 1955-D, 1956-D, 1957, 1957-D x3, 1958-D x2, and 1959-D x5... Then two silver War Nickels: 1943-S and 1945-P, And a proof 2003-S: A 1964-P with a possible mint error as a copper wedge going through the date (I should make a separate post on just this coin ), And this is why I hunt nickel boxes, my very first of this date Unbelievably found this in the very first roll I hunted...
