125k mintage on the 2017 S Proof ASE max. This issue will be at least semi-key. But yes, mice low 2017 Kennedy mintage for sure but they're all low lately.

I guess it's a keeper set only because of the ASE, maybe enough of the graders will break these sets up to make the set itself in its OPM entirety a rarity going forward, only time will tell.

I see from the production stats the Mint posted last night that the 2016 LES set had nearly 1000 sold this past week. It had been averaging a little over 200 sets a week for the past 7 months.
I wonder if the release of the 2017 set renewed interest in the 2016 set, or if those extra orders were mistakenly placed by folks thinking they were getting the 2017 set and will end up as returns?

I think a little from column a, a lot from column b.

I'd say some renewed interest, but probably more order mistakes. I bet they have a bunch of the 2016 sets returned.

Haven't received mine yet, but I hear it's constructed differently this year. Instead of it being under plastic it is with removeable capsules. Is this correct?

Probably a decision made based on the fact that many would be buying the set to get access to one of the coins contained. I think that was a nice thought for those collectors, at least...

Yes they do, about 4 of mine went off kilter in the mail. They gave me just a little trouble but they are not glued or anything. You may have to push on the back a little and get your fingernail along the side of the capsule but be careful not to seperate the capsule.
