Nice coin, Harry! She looks a bit older but with the same hair style.
It seems like Roman Empress coins are a bit cheaper than the corresponding Roman Emperors,
maybe because there is less demand for them.

  Marcus Aurelius. The legend on the obverse is ANTONINVS AVG ARMENIACVS. On the reverse is P M TR P XVIII IMP II COS III with Armenia seated facing left, in a mournful pose. ARMEN is in the exergue. |

Yes another excellent portrait its surprising how these coins keep there detail also you probably know that his auntie was Faustina Sr, what are your Vespasian's like I'm not a perfectionist so mine are run of the mill and this is not my best example July 1 69 to Jun 24 79 A.D. 2.8g 18mm Rome mint 75 or 76 A.D. You have the advantage Harry, since I don't have a Vespasian! Yours is an interesting type. I have been looking for one with the IVDAEA reverse.

t360 all of mine are Rome mint and here's another one that just made it into my collection Vespasian Rome mint 84 A.D. 2.9g 18.9mm RIC's 84 Obv:IMP CAESAR VESP AVG,laur hd r Rev:PONTIF MAXIM winged caduceus   I still a few of this emperor that I haven't done the legends as yet regards Harry |

G'Day all the Trajans I've seen seem to keep there detail not like the Vespasian's so that Trajan is an excellent coin t360 also the amount of titles that the Caesars used was political proper gander like saying "look at me I'm the best see what I've done for Rome"and that's one of the reasons why there are so many varied legends,any way here's another Vespasian Rome mint 20mm 3.1g Obv:IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG Rev:POT MAX TR P COS V Vesp std r holding branch and scepter   hope you like regards Harry Edited by nuggethill

I like that one! Vespasian's coins usually portray him with a huge globular head and a very thick neck.

Again another great portrait of an emperor very nice mate Vespasian again this on is in fine 19.2mm 3,6g Rome mint 75A.D.RIC's 90 Obv:IMP CAESAR VESPASIANVS AVG laur hd r Rev:PON MAX TR P COS VI pax std l,extending olive branch in r l hand at side   I'm suprsed how simalar Domitin portrait resembles Vespasian regards Harry |

Another interesting coin, Harry! Thanks for posting it.
The spirit of peace seems ironic given Vespasian's emphasis on military conquests.
Vespasian and his sons Titus and Domitian do have some similar-looking portraits.

G'Day t360 yes they all look like brothers, most of the time when the son took over the empire from the father the engraver would use the same die portrait of his father until one was made, I'll wait for you to post before I post the next one Edited by nuggethill
