I will come in at the bottom with the obligatory 40% silver Eisenhower dollar.

It's a beauty!!

This Doppelschilling from Hamburg is listed by numista as 0.437 silver:

Off to a great start! I'm getting more confident about hitting a target of 30 different compositions.

I've got very little 18th century Germany, so it's good to see these.

Here's a type I think at least one other member has: Poland, 6 groszy Sigismund III, KM#42. Gumoski says this one is 7 1/4 / 16th pure, or 45%:

This is a neat idea for a thread. I'll post a few coins. Probably have more.

Weighing in at 56%, we have a gulden or 28 stüber issue of Oldenburg:

First one fits the 48 % slot (6 deniers argent-le-roi = 0.479), a French blanc from 1385-1389:

Next one is 40 % (5 deniers argent-le-roi = 0.399), another French blanc from 1444-1446:

Finally, yet another 40 %, this time low-grade silver from French Indochina, minted in San Francisco:

As luck would have it, I just discovered that one of my recent Poland pickups, the 2 zlote coin of the 1831 November Uprising is 59% (which comes out to 9 1/2 / 16ths if you do the math):

... and great progress on 40-49%

Before Philip le Bon settled the 2 gros/groot coin of the Low Countries at 6 deniers fine in the late 1420s (my first coin of the 40% slice, and erafjel's 15th century blanc), it floated around between 5 and 6 deniers (40-48%). Anthony of Burgundy struck this one in 1410-1411 at 5 deniers, 3 grains, which comes out to 41%:
How-Low-On-Silver-Content-Below-70%-Can-You-Go?
How-Low-On-Silver-Content-Below-70%-Can-You-Go?

I think that's our 5th composition in the 40s. There is still that 42% Mexico type (which inspired this thred) lurking out there. After that I think it will get tough.
I will do a full update of the 40s later.

I could spam this thread with the other 14 40% silver Ike photos I have, but I will not.

Yup, about all I can contribute here is another 40% Ike. I think everything else I own is .8 or .9 other than a few 40% Kennedy's.
