paralyse Bedrock of the Community United States 12057 Posts	Posted 12/20/2023 02:20 am Another 0.500, a 10 Kopek from St Petersburg Mint, Russia An 1848-KB 20 Krajczar of Hungary (Revolutionary issue) is here at 58.30% (bad photos, this is a nice AU coin with toning) From Hamburg comes this pair of a 4 Schilling and 8 Schilling of 1727 with 43.7% silver: A 1947 Krona from Sweden is right at 40.0% silver: A 1974-S Ike dollar Proof from the US is 40.0% silver too: A pair of Kennedy half dollars from the US, one Uncirculated (SMS) and one Proof, are both 40.0% silver: 1966 - Uncirculated ( DDO) PCGS SP65 1969-S - Proof (PCGS 69 DCAM) I'll look around tomorrow and see what other coins I have in that 40% range. tdziemia Pillar of the Community United States 7965 Posts	Posted 12/20/2023 09:58 am ... and great progress on 40-49% Before Philip le Bon settled the 2 gros/groot coin of the Low Countries at 6 deniers fine in the late 1420s (my first coin of the 40% slice, and erafjel's 15th century blanc), it floated around between 5 and 6 deniers (40-48%). Anthony of Burgundy struck this one in 1410-1411 at 5 deniers, 3 grains, which comes out to 41%: I think that's our 5th composition in the 40s. There is still that 42% Mexico type (which inspired this thred) lurking out there. After that I think it will get tough. I will do a full update of the 40s later.
