Is there any exact number on how many were minted. The Mint said 100,000 but, seems to be a lot of variables that would or could change that figure.

I believe the latest (and unchanged) figures are 100,000 minted..so...I would take a guess at the number being 100,000
...and would it really make a difference if it was 100,002?

They do an audit at the end of every year that is released eventually, correct?

I have a question about the 25th Anniversary set. I bought two of them. One for me and one for my friend. My set has:d Coin -- American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coin - mint mark: "W" (West Point) American Eagle Silver Proof Coin -- mint mark: "W" (West Point) American Eagle Silver Reverse Proof Coin -- mint mark: "P" (Philadelphia) American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin -- no mint markAmerican Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coin -- mint mark: "S" (San Francisco) VS. His set has: American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coin -- mint mark: "W" (West Point) American Eagle Silver Proof Coin -- mint mark: "W" (West Point) American Eagle Silver Reverse Proof Coin -- mint mark: "P" (Philadelphia) American Eagle Silver Bullion Coin -- mint mark: "S" (San Francisco) American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coin -- mint mark: "S" (San Francisco) He has 2 "S" coins and not any without a mint mark. Is this is mess up? I have double checked many times because I kept thinking I was crazy, but there's no doubt. Neither of these sets have been out of either one of our hands. Can someone explain this?

I would think it is an packing error if you got them direct from the Mint. If you got them from aftermarket, your complaint would be with the seller. Probably too late to file a claim with them, but a second mm S is probably worth more anyway.
If you got them just for your personal collection you could always just switch out one of the mm S with a bullion. Depends on what you want to do.

My sets are in the safe and I don't feel like digging them out right now. But looking at the Coin set specification sheet that I scanned it shows the bullion as having no mint mark.. So it sounds like a mistake to me. The two sets I had graded were correct, I'll have to check the other set that I opened and didn't send for grading..

I got them directly from the mint but I was one of the last to receive mine. They were on backorder for quite a while.

If the set has 2x "S" mint coin then consider yourself or your friend lucky. The "S" and "P" Reverse Proof are KEY coins and each of the worth substantially more than the bullion ( no mint mark) coin; I believe those key coins are worth in the range of $200 to $300+ each (check Completed ebay listing).

Consider yourself LUCKY. A great error in your favor. I wonder if that means that there really 100,001 S-Mint coins?

More likely result is someone got a set with no S ASE and an extra bullion coin...THAT person should be pizzed What a fiasco if someone sold an unopened set to a buyer and the buyer submitted it for grading. It would come back with no S graded coin and 2 bullion slabs...the fiasco would be on! Too late to dispute with anyone...TPG would be blamed..seller would be blamed ....not a nice situation Interesting...

Question: Anyone planning to sell their set in the next couple months? If so, then: why, where ( ebay or CCF), and are you selling them as individual coin or as a set? I am thinking of liquidating one or two of my graded set(s) to pay off some Credit Card debt.

I am thinking of liquidating one or two of my graded set(s) to pay off some Credit Card debt. Sold my extra sets to a dealer and skipped all the ebay hassle and expense. Call Coast to Coast Coins and see what they are paying for a sets.

Quote: I still have my 5 sets in the unopened shipping box from the mint. I was going to send them in for grading but haven't gotten around to it. Just not sure if I want to. Does anyone know if I can send it in and have 3 sets graded and have PCGS send me back 2 ungraded?
Why not have them all graded and then sell some sets and buy ungraded sets. There will always be some around for sale. I'm having my 1 set graded. I do like the look of the set in the ogp but if it ever comes a day when the OGP sets are worth more, I'll crack the slabs on the graded coins.
