Now I see why this edition sold out. There are many listers on ebay preselling "confirmed" orders. Many of these listers are selling 15 plus sets total in various listings. Looks like many people had more luck than us getting through multiple times.

I couldn't get any! I was tied up in meetings all freakin day today. The wife however was unable to get the Mint website to load so she spent over an hour on two phones at the same time trying to order. She managed to score only three sets. Well I guess I was luckier than a lot of others out there. I had a great plan in place to score 25 sets but it was not meant to be. I did see on ebay however that one guy has 25 sets listed in 5 different pre-sale auctions. I wonder if he was able to get them all.

Sheesh. I just saw somebody on ebay trying to sell 5 "confirmed" sets for $6000. That's $1200 per set...

Maybe some of us on the "hope" we get a set with our orders will get lucky. Maybe the mint will wish up and cancel some of the 25 set orders, or like the prob 2000 sets HSN will be lucky to get. I am just very mad at the poor job the mint did with this.

If you ordered and got a confiration number, you will get what you ordered. Just because there was a jam for us to get into their system does not mean they were running slowly internally. As soon as they hit 100,000, their system popped it up for them. The wife was operating two cells, her computer AND working and managed to get 2 sets after 40 minutes. We may place a waiting list order.

I don't understand why people are saying they did a poor job? It is what it is, very popular, near the holidays, not outrageously priced. When this type of huge demand hits the "shelves", many people are bound to miss out. They could have limited it to one set per address and there would be people who still got 25 sets. The internet logjam is unfortunate but inevitable. Biggest thing is that if there WASN'T this sort of demand then the set wouldn't appreciate in value like we all hope. With a mintage as low as this, more people will be left out than "got in"
As I mentioned earlier. 100,000 sets, 4.5 hours = over 6 sets PER SECOND. Sounds like a pretty well done job to me

I accidentally placed two orders, one for 2 sets and a second for 4 sets. When I looked at my order status, these two orders were flagged as suspended. Is this because I exceeded the 5 order limit? Anyway, I was able to place orders for 2 sets and a second for 1 set maybe shortly before the mint shutdown orders. My new orders are listed with a hold status.
Wonder how many sets the cable shopping channels will have for sale at what inflated price? Wonder if these high volume dealers have access to a different set of phone lines that us normal collectors are unable to use.
I glad I was able to get my orders placed. Condolences to all of you who missed out.

Just saw an ebay auction for one set go for $575. Now that the ones of that got them get them what is your best course of action? I know I'm gonna keep at least one sealed and raw but what to do with the others to best maximize their value? How many of you are going to go the grading route? How many of you are selling now? So glad I got in I thought I was gonna be SOL

Hold on now. Just how is it that the mint did a bad job? If you cant get through to buy your Stones tickets, do you say the promotion company did a bad job? No. You understand full well that the demand is going to exceed the supply by exponential amounts.
"I am just very mad at the poor job the mint did with this" that is just sour grapes.

I purchased 2 sets for my wife and I to keep in the original but opened mint package. I also purchased an additional set to send in for grading. No plans to sell any of the sets regardless of how high the initial ebay prices get. I want the sets to complete my uncertified silver eagle set; not to make a quick profit on the secondary market. I do be a coin collector.

Well I certainly have an interesting situation going. I completed an order just 13 minutes after noon. I posted this on this thread. There was some difficulty b/c after I paid, a screen came up saying my address and billing address were different. So I called customer service and tool 5 times to get through. The operator, Laura, told me her computer was showing my order number but to check back on the website later to make sure things were OK when the ordering computer got caught up with the customer service system. I checked ay around 5:30-6:00 and have a screenshot of the website saying I had an order for 5 sets. So all is OK right? WRONG! One hour later, since they messed me up from start, Ichecked my account status again and their computer erased my order from off of my account! It is gone! So now what? I have been trying for a long time to get through on the phone. I find it hard to believe that there are that may calls sine the race is over. I am not happy. If this had been my mistake, then I think I would be a little less upset. I hope they can make good on this. This was totally their mistake from the start.

As I may have mentioned earlier, I plan to open one set in order to gaze upon the beauty of the coins and then leave the other 4 sets unopened. I have no plans to sell any of them, however. I have a strong feeling that these will continue to increase in value over time and I plan to pass them along to my son one day.

@earle42... the lines may be busy because they turned them off for the day. I am sure everyone went home for the day. I would try again at 9am ET
