I want mine badly but I realize the US Mint has some quirks to their shipping so i;ll just patiently wait.

thank you for the photos.

Again, this is the coin of the year, yes I said that, the reverse buff is THE coin of 2013 and it will be a major investment piece for me and for collectors that bought this unique coin.

That said, while I realize many collectors may have missed this coin for other reasons such as lack of funds, there is one take away. When the US Mint has unique offerings in either gold or silver, even the silver ones I would consider investment grade. Personally, I feel the ATB 5 oz coins from the US Mint as an example, (not the bullion) are also great unique pieces that will have value built in over years despite what the price of silver does.

I thought that if you have the box unopened with the paperwork from the mint you can submit the coin anytime and still receive the First Strike (as long as it's before the cutoff) ?

If they ship from the mint before the cutoff day and you keep the box unopened they came in you can still get the FS label. If you open the box though you no longer can

Baseball is right. If you have it shipped on or before 9/19 to PCGS you can request FS designation. I was able to trade for one a customer ordered in the first 30 mins of availability and shipped it to PCGS yesterday. All in all it was like $116 for that and a 1878 CC so I'm hoping no matter what the grade of the $50 RB with a FS will bring a nice premium.

I think this is gonna really drive up the price of the FS. Can't be more then 10k FS coins graded if that.

As of now pcgs has about 1300 RP first strikes graded. The quality of those appears to be better than the 700 they did at the ANA show. At the ANA show its close to 50 50 for 70s and 69s but for the first strikes with about 2 70s for every 69 right now

Yeah, mine looks flaws other then a tiny little mark on the rim. I'm not sure if its a mark or a piece of lint or something inside the capsule. I just figured with not that many FS that it couldn't really hurt to slab it. I'll keep you'll informed of how it goes. Also, sent off an 1878 CC that I have high hopes for.

@TPG

If the mint used your photos I might have actually picked all of the pennies out of the couch and cup holders and in the car to buy one.

Thanks jack, you made my day.

I just have to decide if I want to put another $120 into the coin to send it off to PCGS. If it gets a 70 it is worth it. If not then I probably could have put that into more coins. I don't have a connection to send it in so probably won't. Maybe OGP will be the thing in 20 years.

Monday I received an email stating the RPB will be back ordered to 9/23/2013. Today I received an email stating the RPB will be back ordered to 9/30/2013.

What are the odds that the Mint extend the back orders into October?

Another potential delay issue is the American Buffalo packaging. They only sold about 20K of the proof last year and just over 13K of this year's, and given how conservative they have been with the 2012 products, I doubt they ordered 50K additional of the boxes. Maybe 20-25K in case the coin didn't sell, so yeah, the potential of the ship dates stretching into October is pretty good. I wouldn't assume that they will have completed shipping by November 1st either. They might have only had 5,000 coins in hand when the sale opened on 8-8.

While the Mint may of had some coins on hand just after the sale began, the 2000 that were brought to the ANA show, set people, who ordered prior to the show, back too!!!! I accept that my order will be a Great Thanksgiving present!!!

Well, last winter some of you may remember I was buying silver coins and warned everyone it was time to sell. Some of you also were buying ASE's and commenting on how silver always drops after you buy. I made it known I was buying the RP and now gold has dropped $130+ per oz in the last week or so. Interesting that they have not lowered the price of the regular proof yet. Good thing it is only money.

I ordered mine near the end and have been bumped to 9/30. Unless they plan on continually bumping ship dates that SHOULD mean many early orders will go out by then

Goldmart shipped my graded PCGS 70 RP Buffalo today, they had their problems with the WP sets but looks like they're doing ok with the Buffs
