I believe this to be a Cud ERROR and would appreciate any opinions. This would be my first nickel Cud error.Thank you in advance for your reply.

Looks more like a fold over error than a Cud. If it were a Cud the rim would not be there. It looks like a fold over after the strike as it doesn't show the devices in that area.

Could you show a pic of the obverse? This doesn't look like a rolling fold to me.

You might check to see if you can see under the "U" under UNITED? If it is not a layer (Fold) it might be a die break? Can't tell if it is a Retained Cud as nothing is shifted in this area. So a closer look to see if it a layer or firmly attached to the planchet would be a need to know information.
