Didn't hear you say you tried to chew down prices. Every show I go to I never pay what a dealer is asking. Always chew them down on the price. And most dealers know people do this so they raise the prices accordingly.

I would have haggled if there was something I wanted. There wasn't, but doesn't mean I didn't enjoy going :)
Rest in Peace

Yes It's true , Helder and I met at a local coin show that I have been going to for the past 49 years . Gotten a lot lighter now because of Covid . Anyway we wound up not buying anything as I was only looking for OBW and BU rolls of Lincoln Cents and he was looking for certain notes .
But it's always fun going to a show .

Braver than me. I would have been neurotic the whole time and upset if I came away empty. Looking forward to a stress free event this fall.

I don't think I ever went to a Coin Show and didn't walk out with something. Usually I end up with something I never expected to buy. I walk by and things jump out at me. I figure if they jump out at me they will probably jump out at somebody else too when it is time to sell. You're lucky ( I guess ) that your wife is interested in numismatics.
My wife is also a member of our coin club and helps work the show but has very little knowledge of our hobby and values.

I did one time. It was Fall 2004 and I did not return to the shows until Spring 2008. Dark times.

We just had a nice little show in Fresno and expect to do another one in October. A couple items "jumped out" at me; I'll post them in the grading forum eventually.

I'm hoping shows will return to Canada before the end of the year. I do miss them. I'd love to get down to a large US show. It probably won't happen until next year. It shouldn't take too much convincing to get my family to go to Orlando next January and I can spend a day at the FUN show.

Anyone planning to attend the World's Fair of Money? It's in my neck of the woods, so will certainly be going.

It looks like they're pretty optimistic about restarting the monthly shows in Anaheim beginning in August. It's a small show, maybe 20 or 30 dealers, but it's a start. Also, the Long Beach show for late September is still on, really hoping that one is a go.
