The seller had a similar Canadian set for near spot. I jumped on it.
I was able to negotiate this set for 600 Euro, plus free shipping.
I have no idea what I bought. Ill take a look if its a 1942 over 1. I highly doubt it tho because it sounds like a spicy (pricy) meatball.
Any other rarities I should look for in these dates?

This is a really bizarre custom holder. Need a closer look at the 32-D and S quarters, these often have mintmarks added, they look ok from the pictures but its better to be sure. If real they go for about 300 each in AU. The 36-42 proof cents all have fairly low mintages, the 1936 has only 5000, and it comes in two different finishes, satin and brilliant. Yours is brilliant. PCGS has 1936 proof cents at 650 in PR-63 red. Theres 2 different 1942/1 Dimes, one from Philadelphia and one from Denver. The Philadelphia one is very obvious, (it looks like 19412) but the Denver is more subtle, look for the bottom of the 1 at the base of the 2. The 55 "bugs bunny" variety is on the half dollar, the name comes from clash mark that makes ben franklin look like he has buck teeth. 1960 S.D means small date, specifically on the cent. It's considered a necessary variety for a complete set of cents, but its not a valuable one. This is pretty much everything off the top of my head. I think you made your money back on silver content alone.

Odd selection of coins indeed. Some key and semi key dates included. The 42/1 dime, '32 s and d quarters, 38D walker just to name a few. What was the cost of this collection? If genuine you may have some high end coins there. Of course there is that possibility of "Too good to be true"

This set contains an actual 1942/1 error. The details are immaculate too.   It looks cleaned to be honest. But I'm still happy. What should I do with it? Keep it or should I grade the entire set of coins and sell them? Honestly some of the other coins are super high grade. Edited by wilsonwu89

That 1942/1 dime appears to be authentic and AU/MS details cleaned. It alone in a TPG Details slab is worth more than the ~$683 you paid for the set. If it were mine I would submit it to PCGS, get it slabbed and sell it. I suggest you take photos of the 1932-D and 1932-S quarters and post them here for us to see. They as well could be expensive coins. I wonder what the seller was thinking when they put this set together? Scary thought - could all of these be the newest versions of high end Chinese fakes?  |

Very unique set... I couldn't see, but is there a brand name on the holder? Kinda looks like a Capital Plastic...but I've never seen this one? Was there an original box included with this set? Guessing this set was put together in the later 60's due the fact the hyped-up 1965 DOUBLE DOT Cent is included? On top of what others have mentioned already... The 1936-D 1/2, 1/4 & 1/10 are pretty desirable in higher MS condition. I also like the 1938-D's in this set which recognizes no Denver 1/4's were produced, but it includes the 2 transitional Nickles...Tastefully done imo. Very cool set!
