MD, I have 'not' been doing 'research' for very long at all, and I most certainly do not search out everything that is written on this subject. Any literature that I have read, I have little doubt that you too have access to, if you haven't 'already' read it.

I have some addictions, the need to feed the urge to read and absorb and learn as knowledge is very much like having an edge in life........ I do read some here and there...LOL.

While I do consider everything that I read to be 'information', I don't consider it all to be 'knowledge'. The source is all important to me.

What interests you about the Morgan-Peace thing? Is it mint operations, mint management, the history behind the mints, the people who actually made the history, the machinery involved, or the coins themselves? I know that you would respond with 'all of it', but try to pick just a couple of the most interesting ones to you.

First, I enjoy the beauty of the coins, Anna and Teresa in all their glory on the Obverses.
I also am very fascinated by the entire PDS process, I am just amazed by the different nuances, and slight differences of the die marriages, I enjoy the collecting of these coins for the simple fact that I can, and for the last few years, the VAM issues, the hunt is all consuming, the literature I have sorted through to have an opinion and the knowledge, once the sifting of that literature has been completed to my satisfaction to develop an understanding of all of these procedures helps when I venture out to shows and meetings to cherry-pick what I have come to understand and know will assist me in my future ventures, what ever they may be, in the Numismatic addiction I have come to love........ PS, I find the fact, as per you, that you do not own a coin, still very interesting!

I see...I had thought that possibly we might be in sync in our interests, but mine are the folks and events that made the history of these beautiful designs, and the machinery that made the interesting coins that you love to hunt. You are a collector, I am not.

I once (less than a year ago), owned over 1700 of these coins, but they are scattered now to the wind through fits of rage and moments of generosity. I still have other denominations of coins, but they too are being dispersed. I just am not a coin person; never was, never will be. I tried, (I really did), but I didn't fit the mold somehow.

Maybe the "collector" issue is not for you, however you have a passion for the knowledge of the entire coining process, and a good one at that, please keep up the informative posts, that keep me thinking!!PS, Are you the pocket coin carrying type?

Well Mike, maybe 'informative posts' would not be quite as descriptively accurate a term as would 'provocative posts'.

It's more important to inspire thinking than to provide it.

Yeah, well here is a coin that will change all of that.....I don't really remember it so well, (it might not even be mine), but I do have this picture saved for some reason.

This is the rare and elusive 1926-O Peace Hybrid. (very few known to exist) (R-11).

I'd think that even remmy doesn't have one of 'these' with doubled denticles. (I won't bet on that though). From time to time, both he and Russ have shown some real strange things. (Coins too).
