Just so happens Earl, as many here can attest, I am no stranger to Liberia products rof .... I actually put together a set of 3/4 gram gold Liberia proof coins, 24k, not bad deals on them on ebay usually. Charles Lindbergh, Napoleon, Joan of Arc, Nefertiti, Peter the Great, Alexander the Great, Galileo, Nostradamus, Columbus and of course Julius Caesar. Sold all ten as a set to a fellow up in Kentucky last fall. Too funny that you would mention one that I have owned, lol.... I also had a really cool Me 262 on the exact same Liberia style silver design, accept it was 20 grams an was pure silver, oddly enough. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messerschmitt_Me_262Liberia did some sterling as well from those Franklin mint as you mentioned Earl, and I had another which was Civil war theme Chancellorsville seems like....

Quote: they update a whiteboard in the lobby that shows their buy and sell prices for all coin types. If my store did enuf biz to justify that, I'd set it up on a video display that I could update from a keyboard.

Great week, it was slow Friday, but we did real well Thurs an Sat.... Man, we grabbed some great stuff, junk gold out the wazooo, a bunch of half Ben's an Kennedy's today as well.... Four nice 2003 ASE with nice case an black border yesterday..... I even sold a proof set to a lady who was getting it for her daughter. The date was 2006 her birth year, nice. They only go for about 8 bucks, but neat little way to strike an interest in coins. I told her mom to put her 1 oz. away until she goes to college, and she like the idea. Mom said she had been learning about coins in school, and that was nice to hear, a sparked interest in this most new generation.... I truly enjoy the Bullion store, as every time I put something of real value on those scales, well it is hard to explain, but is a satisfying feeling, even when you know most likely you will never see the item again, or have a chance to buy it. Our manager has the option to pull it an keep for our store, and it happens in some cases, esp on items I like, so there is a chance for me to own some of these great items.... We have like 26 stores now, two more opening up, and owning your own melt is real advantage.... Oh yes, one young fellow brought in the El presidential today, via a five grand Rolex, wow. I have been dying to learn how to appraise one, as even our manager has to get the Rolex specialist on the phone from another store. Let me tell you, Rolex has its name for a reason, nothing but top notch quality all the way down to this amazing leather/cedar box which it came in. We made him a beyond fair offer, but they wanted five grand, and that is what we would try an sell it for, so no deal, but great learning experience.... My mom came in today with a heavy old gold chain 14k and couple small 14k rings, and her eyes got saucer size when we told he what she would walk with, and of course she took it, lol.... I even stopped by a table Wed at Lakeside, via regulars and told them I was working there as well at the coin shop, and my usual spill about go home find your old gold chains, old coins, collecting dust doing you ZERO good, and bring it to me. Well, the next day Thurs, he walks in with a similar Tag watch 18K. Unfortunately it was my manager's day off, and me an the other girl can't do those deals yet, and this Rolex guy was today of course. He was heading to Atlanta for weekend, but said he would be back Monday. So I think it looks good the business I have already helped them out with in a real short time.... I carry cards now, and find a way always to bring up the subject of the new job, and stop in with the scrap gold, coins, etc.. I even came up with the idea yest when it was real slow and the boss was thinking of new ways to find bus, and I suggested that I would gladly walk to every store in an around Turkey creek passing out flyers and telling them about the store, when we have all 3 of us in the shop on Thursdays, as we always have to have two in the store at all times....

Hey thanks Trout, I know I am full of TMI and way long winded, but I like to write, as I always wanted to be a short story writer when I was like in my early teens, late twenties....

Or you can buy junk, and spend the time fixing it.

My Rolex experience: A guy brought in a stainless and rose gold model, no crystal, didn't run, might have been missing a hand or two. Me: What do you want for it? He: 3. Me: I can give you 50. He: Naw, I'd have to get 3. Me: Sorry, I can't help you. Employee: ? You offered him more than he wanted, then he turned you down? Me: That's because we understood each other. He wanted three hundred, I offered 50 dollars. Week passes: He: Can you go 75? Me: Tell you what, I'll go 65. He: Fair enuf. Sold it to another dealer on teletype for 175, who said they'd fix it up and sell it back for 250 if I wanted it.

Does it glow and fade out (fluorescent) or glow constantly (radioactive)?

It fades out. But will take a while to do so.
Was a big fan of Rolex until I got into the smaller German brands. Damasko, Stowa, Nomos, Sinn, ... Although Rolex's in house moments are something to lust over and their design copied the world over, you're still getting a lot less watch for the buck than you would with the Germans. I'd rather not pay for the advertising, packaging, branding of a new Rolex just to have the watch loose at times close to 50% of its value as soon as I open the box. Very few watches appreciate, but with one of the Germans I mentioned you'd retain 90+% of the value if you take good care of it. With technically-minded companies like Sinn and Damasko the money you pay goes into innovations too as oppose to just the name
