Very interesting and dramatic. I find it hard to believe there is nothing close to this in Snow's attribution guide. It would be interesting to know what he would say about this coin. I agree it is difficult to come up with a value when you have nothing to compare to.

That is interesting. I reckon it's one of those it's worth what someone is willing to pay. It's definitely a nice coin. Looks like he had the same photographer as the post in the ebay Worst Coins thread. |

I saw this one too. What is interesting is how there is no double strike that I could see on the reverse. Dont really know how that can happen.

I was looking for errors. Paid a premium of 10 cents for the privilege. He offered a boat load of BU Ikdes. And had a puzzeled look as I only purchased some greasers. =============================== Just got a fresh $1,000 bag of Ikes today. Half way through digging. So far so good. So with a striking error does the coin bounce a bit and then gets struck again leaving the doubling ?

Yeah...how this happened exactly is a mystery to me. Perhaps the coin was stuck to the reverse die, and the hammer (obverse) die was a little loose.  |
