Those are nice ,,have you taken a look at any of the world coins ? I hate to admit it but many of them put the US coinage to shame for beauty . I no longer own this coin ,,but it is in a collection of one of our forum members ,, it was won in one of my contests . and don't even get me started on Copper from other countries ! Metalman

I really like the Mercury dime, Standing Liberty quarter, and Walking Liberty half. These are classic looking designs that highlight a high point in US coinage (at least in my opinion). And they remind me of the art deco movement that was influential in the 20s and 30s. As far as foreign coins go the 20 centavo that Metalman posted is great - thanks for that!

I have a 10th anniversay Loon that isn't ugly. However, there's something about old half dollars in any condition that turns me on so I'll vote for a top quality Flowing Hair half.

My fave is the Standing Liberty quarter for three reasons. First, it is a beautiful coin with a lot too it. This goes for Liberty herself as well as the eagle in flight reverse (stars or no stars). Second, they are so hard to find in better than Fine condition. I suppose this rarity adds some exotic aspect that some other coins lack. Finally, I can actually afford some of these rarer EF and better grades. Don't get me wrong, the Saint is a great coin but it is well outside my price range to have more than one or two (someday).

My favorite coins are:
1. 1773 Virginia half penny 2. Jamestown $5 commemorative Proof 3. 2007 Platinum Reverse Proof
I know the last two are a commemorative and a bullion, but those two coins I continuously admire for their beauty.

There was a post on the ebay board that had some beautiful foreign coins, I wish I saved the persons web site. I really enjoyed some of the ones he had listed (he was from France). The two tone coins were my favorites.

That is a tough question. There have been many beautiful coins struck over the ages. This Syracuse decadrachm is attributed to Euainetos ca. 400-390 B. C. It will be auctioned in New York this month by Stack's.

So many to choose from. It would probably be easier to name a few of the less attractive designs. Of the coins that I own, I would have to place Liberty Walking halves and Standing Liberty quarters at the top. Overall, the two St. Gaudens designs of the 20 and 10 dollar gold I would rate as tops--particularly the 10.
