1979 P Quarter - Looks Black - Coin Community Forum

Tariqh425 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 07/05/2016 2:48 pm Hi, everyone. I found this 1979 P quarter. The finish looks black to me but it still has some shimmer. It also feels slightly heavier than other quarters and sounded a little different, which is why it caught my attention (going to buy a scale in the next couple of days). I am new at this so I am not sure if this is anything. Let me know if I should post better pics. Report this Post to the Staff

I have one I got from a bank roll in 2015 and it has original mint luster on it, its just black in color. How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash? Alex12780 Valued Member United States 344 Posts	Posted 07/07/2016 2:04 pm Looks like it's been heated to attempt to tone it. I put a quarter on the stove for the heck of it and repeated it over and over. The finished result looks quite similar to that. Report this Post to the Staff
