Currently, I have almost one of every national parks quarter (2010-2021), and I have kept them around for a while now. I also have the 1976 bicentennial quarter, as well as Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands quarter, and the Guam quarter. I was wondering if these quarters are worth keeping. I have checked different sources for their values and they aren't more than $4-5 at a high grade (which is what most are). Could these coins increase in value ever, or should I just get rid of and spend these coins like I do with normal coins?
Thanks!

They have a value of 25 cents, and will not likely be worth much more for a long time to come.

Getting more than face for them can be tough. Dealers will try to sell them for .50 to .75 cents each. I don't know of any dealer that would pay more than face for them, and many dealer will not buy them at all. That being said ... I like them ... And have many thousands of them.

You (probably) won't get rich by hoarding them. You may come across a variety or two which could net you a few bucks. That said I have several of each. I keep the choicest examples I find from circulation for my Whitman P&D album. I collect the S business strikes for those that exist I assemble UNCs and Proofs in a Dansco. So that's at least 6 of each. And then I have a bunch of loose ATBs too as I generally keep the shiny ones I find in circ (until I get tired of them taking up room and add them to my dump pile to go to the bank). And this doesn't really count but I collect the 5oz UNC pucks too. So, yah.... like GR58... I like them.

The problem with these quarters (going back to the State Quarters) is the vast numbers that are made. The first couple years of state parks they made 60-70 million of each. The newer ones are being made in the hundreds of millions. On top of that the Mint is trying to get people to collect these, meaning many are getting pulled from circulation early on when in nice condition. To have any value (lacking precious metals) a coin has to be fairly rare. Rare enough that more people want them than are available. For these quarters the only value would be if someone is trying to make a collection and are lacking a couple and *maybe* would pay a dollar or two to complete their collection.

The proofs and silver proofs are significantly more "scarce", relatively speaking, but still there are many hundreds of thousands of them (sometimes into the low millions) produced annually.

ATB coins taken from circulation will never have a value beyond face. Same as the State Quarter, just a carbon copy with the ATB's. Saving higher grade circulated P & D examples for a folder or an album though is quite fine ! -- Heck, that's what coin collecting is all about, collect what you like, don't worry about the future value if it interests you. Take a complete set of near Uncirculated State Quarters to a coin shop = a face value offer, if that , they may not even want them at all. Take heed of that before you hoard any ATB's. But, I say again, collecting them for your folder/album is what our sport is all about! If you like em, go for it! (I personally do not collect them as of yet- but Uncirculated, Proof, and Silver Proofs of these come in the yearly US Mint sets, so these will be in my future plans, but I personally won't collect them from circulation)

2010-2012ish have very low mintages. People are burnt out from the State Quarter program, but if the ATB ever comes into demand, there are not enough of the early years for everyone in the country to have one. The series wasn't nearly as popular, so the % saved was probably lower as well. Right now, demand is well below supply. I imagine that they "keys" may appreciate in value on the scale of a Wheat cent or early Jefferson--well below inflation, but still gaining value nonetheless.

I collect them, I like them, and I do not care what they are worth. I keep them because they make me happy, not because they make me rich.

If it makes you happy, keep them. One of each isn't a lot of money today. And they are physical cash money and if the computers that run our world crash, you will be the smart one. But to answer your question, an old friend of mine retired and wanted to "Cash In" his hoard of bicentennial quarters. He was disappointed. They are only worth face value. They are not rare. Just like the ATB Quarters. Half of my coin collection is made up of the annual sets issued by the US Mint. I don't anticipate making a profit and some of them are 90% silver! I just like the way they look under a magnifying glass, like small works of art. Now if you want to talk about hoarding wheat cents,... if I find them they will never see the light of day again!

Finding Wheats excites me too ! --- And they're worth at least 2x face .... I don't see any circulated ATB's or State qtrs. ever being worth 2x face even 50-100 years from now....

Yea ... people who collect large amounts of them ... have to be crazy Not as many as you GR58, but I saved a P&D roll of the State & ATB Quarters, as well as rolls of JFK's and Presidential dollars. Gotta leave something for the kids to put in CoinStar machines when I go.
