Nice! I wonder if this set will be carried through to next year since we will only have the ASE and Native American dollar coins in 2017. I'm guessing not.

Quote: 12,745 sold as of Sunday
Interesting to see where this one ends. Anyone know how many sets were initially made? I figure since this set is made up of coins the mint already has they only make a certain amount, say 20-30K, and if sales are low they just don't make anymore.

I was hoping they would have made some sets for the years they missed (2009-2011). I'm sure they have presidential, Native American and ASE's for those years in a vault somewhere. Limited edition sets for those years would be cool.

No Uncirculated ASEs were minted in 2009 & 2010. In 2011, 309,884 UNC ASEs were sold individually and the rest went into the 25th anniversary sets.

Bummer. What about proof ASE's? Any of those left over from those years?

Two good points: Quote:I wonder if this set will be carried through to next year since we will only have the ASE and Native American dollar coins in 2017. I'm guessing not Never even thought about that...one of my favorite no biggie sets probably will be toast Quote:

So...I agree with your assumption and that's why I said it could be interesting. They can still make sets but that would decrease the availability of the single W's which will end production (if not already) on Friday

It took some digging but here are some interesting stats on the Annual $1 sales over the years: Quote: 2015 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets 22,691 Sold Out
2014 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets 28,637 Sold Out
2013 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets 43,150 Sold Out
2012 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Sets 27,300 Sold Out Low mintage goes to last years' set not the 2012! Had to stop sales on 12/31 because of the edging thing

Just as an FYI, the US Mint website (not the sales one, the other one usmint.gov) shows 499,410 as both the number of uncirculated ASEs sold in 2011 and also the number of reverse proofs sold that year. Clearly someone goofed and listed the total number of coins in the sets sold in each case. The actual number of uncs in the sets should be 199,764 (one S and one W per set) and the number of reverse proofs should be 99,882. The totals given are also wrong because of this miscount.

Fox, I am sorry to hear about waiting for Your sets and once in hand that visual excitement is watered down with defective coins..... Best wishes with the returning sets... PS, Many are in that boat.

In my experience it's like they purposly put defective coins in these sets. I tend to stay away from them for this reason.
