I collect low to mid range coins... and if I won the lottery absolutely nothing would change. My lottery wins would already be spent on the following:

1) I have taught and coached a two boys with a sister that has a genetic issue that leaves her in a wheel chair. Their mom is single, and can't hold down a regular job with regular hours because she has to take care of the needs of her girl frequently and often. They live in a rental house, but because it's a rental they cannot equip the house with the necessary equipment like ramps and lifts to help this girl live independantly. The girl is growing up and the mom has difficulties with all the transfers from bath, toilet and bed.. which means the brothers miss school to help out at home as well. #1 on my list is that I would buy this family a home so this girl could have some independance and dignity to do things on her own if she wanted.

#2 coaching is my passion so I would get a bus for my wrestling team so that they could go to more tournaments throughout the year.

#3 I would then buy a three store strip mall.... and create 3 recession proof businesses.... one something similar to a dollar store, the second and an adult store and the third would be a petfood store and I would call the strip mall "knick knacks - paddy whacks - give a dog a bone"

I'd like to get some 16th and 17th century European thalers and some older English gold and hammered silver - maybe try to get a coin from each monarch going back to Saxon times.

If it were a huge winning like millions and millions of dollars. I don't think I would collect coins anymore. Salt water is bad for coins.
I'd probably have a fleet of deep sea fishing charter boats and a yacht to keep an eye on the captains.
Of course I might have a diving team for shipwreck treasure hunting too.
Rest in Peace

I would probably build a slabbed US type set to compliment the 7070, just as I am now building an Ike set to compliment the one in my Dansco 8176.

After that, who knows, but I will certainly be buying some gold since I have no gold now.

It all depends on if you won a million bucks or 100 million bucks. If it were just one million I would invest it. If it were 20 million I would invest 75% and buy stuff with the rest. If it were 100 million I would invest it all and live of dividends and capital gains.

I would add some gold, especially some classic gold. Maybe a Charlotte gold piece or two.

Expand my silver hoard, such as it is.

Acquire a Gobrecht and/or Seated Liberty dollar in high grade.

And an 1847 Crown.

I try to corner the market on the highest grade of a particular series of a particular date. Then reset the price.

Part of what I like is the fact that I can't buy everything; if that was removed I think my interests may change

You think if you had unlimited funds you could buy everything? There is a reason there has only been one Eliasberg and its not because there aren't coin collectors with unlimited funds.

Good question:
1) My first purchase would not be coins but either a (fully restored) '70 Plymouth Superbird or '69 Dodge Daytona - with the Hemi.
2) I guess I would start with a mint set of Half Cents, followed by a fully MS type set(including Gold), then Franklin FBL above MS66.

But this is just me. For each person chiming in here there will be just as many different opinions of what they would do. Have fun with it.

I'd probably hit some of the bigger shows and combine vacations with doing so. Maybe collect something more rare.

Continuing to think about this I decided to before anything, buy as many Mercury dimes as possible. Try to make my all FSB set #1 as perfect as possible and hire people to run around buying them for me. Still give away most of the other coins I have and to my Grand daughter and hope she gets interested in coins. Take her and all her friends to ToysRus and let them buy everything they want.
Rest in Peace
