I'd venture MS-64 RB, only missing a 65 because of the irregular obverse strike. Looks full red on the obverse but you report RB and you have it in-hand. I presume the flat areas on the rim are purely as-struck.

Your 1871 is lovely but this one is awesome!

Nice diamonds, luster and strike.

I think this one went MS66 to be honest

Must agree with Jaobler - severe loss of obverse detail holds this to 64RB.

MS-64RB. Maybe 65. The obverse doesn't have enough detail for a 65+ or 66.

64rb. I'm in the camp that you need a full strike for a coin to qualify as gem.

Looks like a die crack obverse 2:00 .One of the best and sharpest LIBERTY and band I've seen on a IHC . Not quite sure what happened to most of the rims on obverse . Some doubling on some letters on obverse .
Reverse is real nice , sharp shield ,all original with nice color . All fields free of chatter and super clean face on Indian . MS-66 RD unless the flatness on obverse counts as a decreased grade .

Rick would love this one. Very late die state with cracks, major subsidence, and pitting or die rust on the reverse. I would go 65RD and worth a small fortune if the color is authentic.
