Beautiful example,

Question: (keeping in mind I do not collect, or even pretend to know this series as far as MS60-65 goes) with the marks that are present is this a true representation of an MS65?

I believe so; an MS-65 grading still allows for some marks.
If they weren't there, this coin would be in MS-66 territory...

These tiny marks are nearly inconsequential for a coin this small. Remember that eye appeal is an important factor when a grade is assigned, and this coin has that 65 "look".

I would agree with CoinFrog, the mark that caught my eye was in the back of the head. Technically, it is a nice MS-64, probably with the eye appeal giving the extra grade point. It is a beautiful coin with nice eye-appeal, and most importantly, problem free.

It is one of the nicer ones out there. Congrats!

Thanks for the feedback. I was expecting MS64 and would have been satisfied with MS63 so this is a great turn out. I thought I might lose a point for the minor marks as well. Not bad for purchase of about 35 dollars plus cert fees.

Eye appeal, and being completely free of problems (like spots or fingerprints) counts...

Not a bad purchase indeed...

I think this falls right in line with PCGS Guidelines -

"A PCGS MS65 will have some marks/or abrasions, but they will be minor. The strike must be above average, and luster and eye appeal must be good."

So I had some car issues this week and might be listing this coin, not sure if eBay or forum would be better for a coin like this? I think auction houses take too much of the pie!

Any advice?

You can also do both. Set it on eBay for the price with the fees ect and then list on the forum too for the price minus the eBay fee.
