*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***Hi guys, newbie poster. Fell upon this 1961 Roosevelt dime. It looks particular in that the strike seems to be inverted all the way around the edges including the backside wondering if anybody has come across this particular kind of strike on a dime before. Never seen one so perfectly struck around like this. Was wondering what you guys would know about this particular coin thanks! *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

I moved your post to the appropriate section for the proper attention. And you can use your favorite image software or the CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images.

It is a bit hard to see. Can you crop the picture?

Thank you so much Fuzzy317 Mod, and also is there anything you could possibly make of this particular? I've been looking around for 1961 Dime errors before I even thought about posting it just to make sure I wasn't being over the top on my post haha.

Can we get a clear closeup of what you think is an error?

Will try to see if I can get a better post up. Ok, if you guys can see on the LIBERTY focus your eyes on the T do you see how the striking seems to be inverted? That goes all the way around. As for the reverse if you focus your eyes on the ONE it looks like a double die but that is a striking that is inverted. Looked very odd to me.

Any advice on how to get the best quality in a picture have tried but all the crops seem to make the image more distorted :/

What you have here is a damaged coin. It's Post Strike Damage, since it happened after it left the U.S. Mint. The metal has been pushed over and flattened.
Errers and Varietys.

Intentionally, or in a dryer perhaps. The edges have been removed.

Hard to tell from those photos but it looks like the reverse rim has been ground down. No matter what the cause, it's PMD. When posting pictures please orient facing up and crop close to rim as per Posting instructions. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...g-images.asp

And use a non-reflective black or dark gray background.

Best I could do using the pics. Looks like the edge has been shaved or grinded off.
