Just when I think I've seen the most impressive tiny Greek coins!

This one was also in that CNG lot; lots more goodies than it looked like in the photos!

Troas, Kebren (Cebren)
AR Hemitetartemorion, 5mm 0.09g
c. 5th century BC
Obv: Male head (Apollo?) right
Rev: Ram's head right

It's a shame the ram is so far off center, but it is nevertheless an impressively engraved coin! Not only were they able to engrave anything at all on a 5mm die (supposedly without magnification!), but the coin is struck in deep relief!

Scale photo!

New Sale! Inexpensive classic Greek silver, over 2,400 years old!

Had to have really good eyesight and a steady hand to engrave something so small. Neat coin.

Amazing relief on such a small coin!
