I haven't seen this posted before, so I hope this helps..
For the new collector, this is my list of Key dates for coins.
As you complete your sets, you will mostly find that you are missing these...
Key dates are the hardest to find because they had very few made compared to other issues or were over collected or over destroyed by time. Semi Key dates are out there, but harder to find...
So, as you build your collections, these are the ones to watch for and also have to be careful of counterfeits... Unless you know for a fact they are genuine, you might want to buy them slabbed and graded...

These would be the hardest 3. There's a couple more in the early dates below 5 million mintage also.

I wouldn't call Morgans "modern."

Any keys/semi-keys in Ikes, SBAs, Sac/NA, Pres?

The 2000-P FS-902 "Cheerios" Sacagawea dollar. The only true "Key" coin I've ever owned. I found this in a box of Cheerios and thought it might be worth a hundred bucks or so some day, if I was lucky. I put it in a drawer in 2000 and didn't disturb it until about 2010 when my wife asked me "Is this worth anything?"

It sold in 2019 for $4100.

The 1973S proof brown box Ike is usually considered a key (or semi) date with mintage of 1,013,646. Then there's the 1972 type II reverse. Not sure about the estimated mintage there.

Lincoln 1922 no mint mark is an error coin.

Some Numismatists consider part of the set, some don't.

Yokozuna, Not sure if the detailed tail feathers Cheerios Dollar is a "key date", it's considered a pattern piece as the reverse wasn't the approved one for the strike, and not necessary for a collection.

USSID18, Not sure about the W quarters, it remains to be een if collectors consider them necessary for the "collection" of Washington quarters.
if this is the case, then I'd think those 2018 Reverse proofs from the san francisco set should count, but with a mintage of 200K, I don't think anyone would argue they should be Key dates over the 1932 D and S. it's kind of a stand alone thing, And I think this may be what happens with the W mint mark quarters.
Then there's the whole " State Quarters", " America the Beautiful Quarters", and them not being technically part of the " Washington quarters" series really.
remains to be seen how they get collected really.
