As I said I'm looking to see if this seems like a DDR or just something else. As usual thanks in advance.

Nice penny! I'm by no means an expert but, the images & tutorials I've watched & read, it looks really close to it! I kinda looks like a worn or wearing die. I really don't know though! 🤷 #127996;#8205;#9794;#65039;

Looks like MD to me. Did you check all three-reference site we all need to do to find an attribution number?By doing that you also learn to recognize the differences between MD and hub doubling.

I definitely checked Wexlers, variety vista, andmost of my books. But I'm at a loss because at first it seems like Machine Doubling or die wear but everything on the reverse design has some sort of doubling and it was noticeable before I magnified it. But of you think it's just die wear or MD I'll take your word for it you usually know what you are talking about, thanks.

@fdo, the way that you can know that this type of doubling is Machine Doubling is by the steplike appearance, where the design elements are made thinner. Also, with MD, you won't see any split serifs. Yours is a great example of this phenomenon.

The reduced devices is enough to tell that it is MD.

Machine Doubling for me, and a nice example too. Consider dropping it into a 2x2 for future reference.

This discussion inspired me to answer a question that has been haunting me for years. When did the reverse dies change over from the multi hub dies to the single squeeze dies on cents? The answer is on this link:

The answer might surprise you?
