I look forward also to seeing the results @Dearborn. For everyone else if you missed it, its also possible to get blank small dollar pages in the correct size that have no title or text under the portholes, or the sacagawea/presidential titled blank pages will also work and those have no text under the portholes but have a title pre printed at the top. These have 16 portholes 4 rows of 4 per page if you wish to make a custom and it turns out not to be easy to erase text as dearborn is doing. How many pages you need depends only on how many coins you are trying to put in the album. At the moment Dansco is only making a 3 across 4 row Innovation Dollar titled page to fit reverse proofs in the back of the 8188/8189 so far. As an example, For the title of the pages use Avery #18660 address label, and for each of the coins use Avery #18667 return address label which both are clear. You can download the template from their website. This is an example a collector made for Innovation Dollars prior to the albums being created. Just some added ideas for future readers.

Quote: For everyone else if you missed it, its also possible to get blank small dollar pages in the correct size that have no title or text under the portholes... It is an option, for sure. For what it is worth, I have many custom albums using blank pages. My IHC, Buffalo nickels, and Mercury dimes are in one album using blank cent, nickel, and dime pages There are only two holes left to fill, 1877 and 1916-D. Rather than upgrading my existing (completed) Lincoln, Jefferson, and Roosevelt albums I opted to build an "ultra-modern" run in another album using blank pages. When it fills I will start another. My original Kennedy half dollar album (acquired in 1984) is four pages. When it was filled I added two blank half dollar pages to my Franklin half dollar album (making it four pages) rather than upgrading to a larger album. After those holes were filled I continued with this procedure: start a new four page album, fill four pages, repeat. I have had these custom albums going back thirty years and have yet to feel a need to label any of the holes. YMMV.

So to re-visit this to show 'some' progress. I had all the pages for 7188 and 8188 Innovation Dollars, but had not yet dared to try the erasure of the Dansco printing - until tonight. So here is my 'new' 8188 page 1 (2018) for the Innovation Dollars for proof including reverse proofs. With the bottom row left to any variants that may pop-up. Page 2 will be dedicated to 2029, and page 3 for 2021, and so on. I think I'll go buy 2 2007 Proof Washington Dollars to fill the top 2 holes - after all this page is dedicated to Washington.

Going back and seeing the labels, I had to move them around a bit (closer to the holes above them) and to fix the ones that were slightly crooked..

Looks good!! just the way you wanted it and no blank pages needed (an interjection starts the sentence right) Time Travel Machine.... Quote: When they do, It had better have holes for P,D,S Proof and S Reverse Proof. Nope, but Dearborn will make it in 3...2...1. PS - Can you fix a hole in a boat, someone named Gilligan wants to know.

Looking good! I have decided that I am getting the 7188 to hold my proofs... P for Proof and D for Different (Reverse) Proof. I will worry about the extra holes in ten years.

Looks good! Just to be clear, you bought a 7188 album, erased almost all the preprinted stuff, and turned it into an 8188? I may to this as well. Hey! 100 posts for me

Quote: Just to be clear, you bought a 7188 album, erased almost all the preprinted stuff, and turned it into an 8188? yes, I did. I took the 7188 pages for the P and D releases and erased it then re-labeled for a custom 8188 album with Proof and Reverse Proof. But I did have to buy BOTH 7188 and the 8188 full albums. Once I'm done with the re-labeling they will end up in the 8188 album cover and I'll try to sell off the 8188 paged and the 7188 album cover to someone who needs them.

So here is my process to erase the inking on the pages: tools: Q-tip on a 6" stick 99% Isopropyl Alcohol Paper Towel Process - one line at a time is best. I soak the Q-tip then wet the lettering on the first line (all 4 hole labels) let sit for 30 seconds then use wet Q-tip to GENTLY rub the ink and wile frequently (keep Q-tip wet when rubbing) Work one hole at a time - not the whole row) keep q-tipping and wiping until all 4 holes are clear of ink. then Buff the area you just cleaned. Repeat for next row.
