Is there a way to figure out the year without chemicals? Is this doubled die? So many questions about this one.

I'm not seeing any evidence of a doubled die. Am seeing a very well-worn coin. I'm sure you've attempted every 'optical' way of trying to determine the date--viewing from different angles under different lighting under magnification. The chemical route may be your last option.

vinegar works but will impact the whole coin. Just a drop of nic-a-date on the date will work. Basically the same stuff the po po use to reveal serial numbers on guns/cars where the serial number/VIN number has been filed down.
