Your first pic, coming from the rim and running down through UM of UNUM is a die crack, what is down in the wing area, as igwt79 has pointed out, is from a die clash. Two separate anomalies but possibly related, as die cracks are sometimes directly related to clashing that cause the die to weaken. ADDED: By the way,

Interesting. Got it out of a roll I got from the bank today. It's in great shape to be from 71. Wonder what kind of value it may be worth?

Quote: Wonder what kind of value it may be worth? A couple of bucks at most, if you found the perfect buyer. Put it in a cardboard 2x2 and label it for a learning piece for yourself to refer to.

Maybe you should post full pics of both coin faces. On a good day, a decent die clash on a relatively big coin can fetch more than $2 on ebay.

Nice coin! A die crack up top and the rest is a clash. IMO they are much less common with Washingtons than Lincoln's. I have a small collection of them.
