I have been reading some of the rool searching posts and seems like a good idea is it worth it just post the oldest things you have found in a roll thanks

Well I havent done it for very long, but a 1919 LWC is my oldest.

I found a 1903 Indian Head penny.

1917 buffalo nickel-I had to soak it in vinegar to read the date.
Oldest dated-1920 Buffalo nickel

1917 LWC. Found it last year. 1936 Buffalo and 1941 Merc. are next. I have found others but not roll searching.

Although they were not targeted specifically at roll hunting, my answer was...

My oldest find is a 1911 Barber dime, found roll hunting in the early 1990's.

It is very worn, but I still have it in my 7070.

Difficult to really answer that one since I started coin collecting well over 60 years ago and early 1900 type coins were common in everyday change then. No need to roll search since you could find almsot anything in change back then. When I started Roosevelt dimes hadn't even been thought of yet. Indian cents in change were common.

A 1902 Indian Head cent is the oldest coin I've found in my searches.
