Copper plated zinc should only weigh 2.5 grams. Here's a link to a topic here by someone with a similar question. http://goccf.com/t/283456

Yours are almost certainly copper given the weights provided and the overall appearance. You could also try the "ring" test, though that doesn't seem to work well for some folks.

I think I have that exact scale (as do many others, I'm sure). When I'm weighing these, copper cents have been anywhere from 3.0-3.2g and zinc cents between 2.4 and 2.6g. You can pretty much count on those ranges.
Of course, if you get one that weighs 2.7-2.9g or in the outer extremes, it may be worth investigating further.
Also, it's a good training technique for me to make a guess from visual inspection first, then weigh it. After a while you will develop an eye for spotting copper vs. zinc (not 100% but pretty good).

The 1982 LD and SD are pretty easy really
The LD is Male. The downward stroke of the two is thick and straight
The SD is Female more graceful, the downward stroke of the two is thinner with a bit of a curve
I used to use Australopithecus Robusto and Gracile, but too few people understood what I was talking about.

If you buy a copy of the Red Book, you would see clear pictures of the differences. And it may be possible that your coin is Gold plated.

Shouldn't even have to weigh coppers from zinc. Unless it's a high grade, bounce coin on a hard wood surface. There is a noticeable sound difference.

This is an old website of mine. Just click on the year-date at the top of the screen and you will see decent explanations for sorting all the different large/small date Memorial cents. http://thecentproject.com/
