Good morning all my coin buddies!
FYI and warning #9888;#65039; #8252;#65039; LONG POST ALERT
First of all, let me start off by saying I am sorry for these pictures y'all. I struggle so hard with getting these pictures right. My "man friend" was helping me but he wants me to do it on my own so I have been trying for the last few days to get better. I am happy to upload more if these do not suffice. It's going to be a process though so thank you for your patience with me in advance. All I can do is try to improve every time and eventually I may be good at taking pictures amongst identifying errors/varieties with more practice & Thanks to y'all's expertise.
I have done my fair share of research,
And LOVE BLUE RIDGE on YouTube. Is he on here? I love his videos and they have been so educational.
but in order to correctly, identify all of these errors and varieties and die breaks, clashes, clipped planchets ,
Retained Cuds, and doubled dies and die clashes and the 500,000 other different types of errors. lol. It's a process, so I'm trying to learn the right way. I see a lot of posts online that are clearly not what they are and I do not want to EVER to that. My intention is to learn, collect some, but also sell on
ebay so I come here to make sure I am not like those fools/crooks on
ebay that falsely knowingly take advantage of people etc.
now the tears are pouring..:( here goes..
My baby sister passed away at 32 yrs old May 21st, 2023. Yesterday was her first heavenly birthday, April 13th. She had battled NUMEROUS autoimmune diseases her entire life, and she fought until the end. We never thought we would lose her. It has taken my family and ripped us at our core. I'm an NC realtor but took some time off after this happened because I didn't want to deal with people. For the most part, people don't understand and this has changed me as a person completely. Losing a younger person is a different horrible type of grief. I used to suck up coins in the vacuum until one day a couple of months after she passed away I found a coin outside in the dirt that intrigued me to pick up.
It was a Otero Warren quarter(nothing special), but I had never seen one probably because I never paid attention to pocket change so found to be interesting. I went inside and looked it up and found out that there are some very valuable varieties/errors on Pennies and all denominations of coins. It then caused me to go out and buy the book, strike it rich at B&N was all I could find so I started there. Then bought boxes of coins and separated by year and kept everything. And I mean everything. After realizing that the majority of the coins I kept were nasty and not errors, I had to go through each of the years and clean them out. Did that. Then I organized by mint and year and wrote varieties for each year and tried to only keep the best ones and all the ones I had questions about that weren't corroded and gross. This has been the best new hobby to distract me, but it has taken some time to get organized and how to figure out the best system that works for me. Now I'm there and sitting on a stack of over 1000 coins lol that I have questions about so expect me to be posting A lot. &

this new hobby has added something else I can do in my life that gives me a little joy and excitement when I thought all was lost. If you've made it this far, congratulations, and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
I was nervous about coming on here and asking questions as well, so I'm grateful for y'all and grateful for your patience. Everyone has been so kind and helpful. Thanks for reading and letting me share my story. I look forward to sharing, learning, and growing our collections together while also making some side income.
*back to business.
I noticed doubling in liberty, and IGWT, and matched this to an attributed
DDO in my strike it rich with pocket change book.
I had some questions regarding a possible die break at the top.
This is One of the hundreds if not thousands of Pennies I have set aside but have been too sad and nervous to ask questions. I am ready now and hope y'all are too because I'm going to be a very frequent visitor. Thank you everyone for your kindness when I need it most. I'll never forget that.
