I found this going through about $20 dollars worth of pennies from one of my drawers. The coin has a bit of oxidation or something on it (the black coloring). I don't want to try cleaning it or anything as I don't want to damage it. Sorry about the picture quality, I took this with my Flip video camera and a magnifying glass haha. Any ideas as to how much one of these would be worth concidering the damage? How rare are is finding one of these?

I don't know the value but I have been looking for one since 1984 and have never found one. I started this hobby in 1971 and have searched over one million cents so congrats on your find

$25-$35 at most, but that's far more than you paid for it!

I have been hoping to find one of those in my searches for the past year.

Hang on to it. It will be worth more in another 10 years. (I think.)

Thanks,i need all the help I can get. As far as cleaning it wait for a pro or two to chime in. I think you could use some acetone on it and it won't harm the coin, but wait for the pros help. Congrats again on a great find.

Since you've been through so many of them, what kind of errors have you found? Which seem to be plentiful/hard to find in the lincoln memorial series?
Rest in Peace

I have found a 1970-S small date, 1988-D RDV,a few 2006 Dbl ear,an 1983 DDO #005, a couple 1997 Dbl. ears, I could go on for a long time,if you search John1 you will find a bunch of info on what I have found. I have hundreds of the bar on columns and wavy steps, trail dies etc. Some are errors some are varieties.

aww cool! a 1983 DDO hmm I always just look at the reverse of those for the DDR maybe I should look at more things. I'd ask you each coin I should be looking at closely but that would be a really long list. Is there like a website to tell me all of the keys? Well the error/varieties anyway.
