I dunno. The top strike on the reverse looks mighty worn to have an XF designation.

That's pretty sharp detail for an overstrike.

That is pretty sweet....who wants to guess the final price? I am going 250 (my inexperienced guesstimate)

Sold for $660.00.
I bid on it, but someone else wanted it more than I did. Probably a good thing! (I would have been really scraping to get the money together) LOL!
Did a member here get it?

A word of caution on double struck coins. The Chinese counterfeiters have been replicating double struck coins for years and have progressively became excellent at doing it. I have seen their work in hand and have written an article concerning these fakes (FUNtopics Fall issue, 2009). I highly advise NOT to buy raw or unencapsulated double struck coins, especially off an auction site. If the coin that is double struck is encapsulated, make sure that it is from the top four TPG companies (PCGS, NGC, ICG, ANACS) and then make sure that the case is correct. BJ Neff
