What would of caused this? I dunno...there is details on the raised parts...so a hammer would have flattened it....

My gut reaction is that it is PMD but the circle of damage is very small and that kind of damage would require a lot of pressure.

Some one has a lot of free time. This is actually two Lincoln cents. The first had a hole cut into it and the second was machined down to fit into the hole in the first coin. The plug was then pounded into the hole.

Now why this was done is beyond me.
