I bought a whole bunch of coins for 50 dollars a while ago. There was 1500 wheat pennies in the bunch 75% of them 1936 and under. Also in the group was 2 999 silver rounds and a 1 gram gold bar. I made my money back on the gold and silver alone. The wheat pennies were a bonus. I just started looking through them now for die varieties. The downfall with the DDO I just found its a little worn. The WE and TR stand out the best in the motto the rest just looks fat due to it being worn down over the yrs. But all in all it matches the coppercoins 1DO-001.

Very nice find .Going by CC's site even in a lower grade your coin should bring a decent price http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/dies...ie_state=mds You should put it in the grading section for comments.

The rest of the coin is in pretty decent shape. I would say overall grade is around 30-35 maybe higher.

Nobody can answer that without seeing good, complete images of both sides of the coin.

As far as grade I would say a VG coin.
Maybe it's just the pics. but I truly cannot
see any doubling. Either in the motto or any splitting
on the date. Maybe I have missed out on many DDO's in the past
when I thought that the devices were just mushy or flattened.

Note the notch in the inside of the 9 on the date:

It is definitely a doubled die. There's no question about that.

The natural grade on the coin would be Fine 12. Because of the scraping damage on the reverse, more likely a VG price. None of the major TPGs will put it in a graded holder because the coin is damaged.
