Can anyone help me with a list of possible Kennedy half errors to look for? I'm primarily a metal detectorist but can't hunt due to health issues. I know how to look for silver, both 90% and 40%. I also look for proof coins and rotated reverses. I have also found that some of the 1982 and 1983 halves are missing the designer's initials on the reverse. My vision is not very good either. What else can I check for? I'm looking forward to your replies and wish all of you a great day.

There are a number of doubled dies in the series, mostly in the earlier years. They range from very nice and very visible down to very minor. Best thing to know is what a doubled die looks like and check everything. A "list" of them would only confuse you and be constraining to what you look at. You should look at everything and pick out anything that's not normal.
Rest in Peace

That's what I do. I use a magnifying glass and when I find something different I set it aside and later I look it up -- yep, each one -- on the net and see what I can learn about it.

Yep, you look for mostly the same things I do. Check your 1966's, 1972's, and 1982's for the "No FG" Error. They are actually quite common. Hope this helps! :)

I have been finding the missing FG on 1982 and 1983. I also found one half the has a rotated reverse. Closer examination under magnification shows that the coin has been altered. Why would someone do that?

The FG is on the die when it is create. Polishing to cover clashes eventually remove those letters. So they are die abrasion. To me a lot of hype for no reason.
