Actually the RPM is a D/D/D. On later die states the lower RPM gets weaker and disappears. Here is what it looks like with a trace of the lower RPM on it: http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds
The RPMs inside the mint mark last longer with die wear. That is why die polishings leave older die scratches next to the devices, while in the field they flatten out faster.
