I wonder how much it would cost without the Lucite?

Maybe if we can get enough members on here to do a Best Offer of $23 they might get a hint

I sense that my srcasim wasn't apparent from my post - I should have had a couple of or or in there.

GO, I took your advice and made an offer of $23. I'm betting that I won't get it. I see it's been out there since July and there have been 4 offers, 2 of which expired and 2 were declined.

If he accepts it, I'll post a pic here, but don't hold your breath.

With my $23 offer, I sent him the following comment:

Quote:
This is really only worth melt value of the silver, so what I'm offering is over melt. Let me know if you're interested in this price.

He responded with a counter offer of $155 with the following:

Quote:
Sorry, I don't sell collectible lucite cubes for less than melt value.

So he must think the lucite cube is worth $130.

If you think that price is crazy, check this out. Makes me think I'm in the wrong business by the amount sold already!

I'm just wondering here... but... Lucite has a melting point of less than 140 degrees... Isn't there a possibility of removing these from the lucite without damaging the coins themselves? Not quite boiling water should take care of it... If you could keep the water around 160 degrees for as little time as the coins are going to be subjected to the temperature I don't think you'd get heat toning...
