1921's I believe are quite a bit more...that 1920 does look very sexy too.

Nice finds! I moved your topic to the 'Classic US coins' forum for more exposure to the right audience.

Hi, newcollctor, Welcome to the Forums. Check the reverses on your 4 coins to see if there are mint marks.

Might have came from a stolen coin collection... But then again, silver slips through the cracks from time to time...

Quote: are there any years for circulated walking liberties that are more valuable then the melt value for silver? Yes! In my opinion the dates that have numismatic (collector) value in all grades down to AG (About Good) include: 1916 1916-D 1916-S 1917-S with obverse mintmark 1921 1921-D 1921-S 1938-D The 1921-D is probably the most valuable date in very low grade. All other early dates (1917-1933) are worth a premium starting in grades of Fine or better. All remaining dates from 1934-1947 (except 1938-D) are basically bullion coins in grades below EF. Your four low-grade Walkers would all be bullion pieces IMO, worth about $12 each or so at current silver prices. Welcome to the forum!

Quote: Some kid jacked his mom or dad's collection to play some video games...lol. I agree! I worked in a gas station many years ago and kids would come in to buy a few gallons of gas and pay with silver dollars! I'd like to be the guy who empties some of those Coinstar machines and gets to check out the coins! I suspect that lots of family coin stashes get cashed in at Coinstar.

Hey cipster, I have had great luck by checking the return tray of the coinstars. I have found silver dimes, wheat pennies and canadian coinage. seems they go right down and most people dont check it. Best one time find 1 Mercury dime and 15 wheaties. Highest canadian amount was a twonie ($2) coin and a quarter. My fiance things I am funny when I go to check them.
