My wife got me a Canon SX150 for our anniversary. It was advertised as having a pretty awesome macro. I messed around with it and couldn't get the macro to do anything too hot, until I quit messing around and went to AUTO mode. These pics come out. I reduced the size, but you still get the idea. This is NO tripod and just whatever lights were on in my living room.

This is my PCGS MS-64 FB and a hobo nickel that was loitering on my desk.
