IMO, The CCs on reverse seem like Morgan dollar CC mint marks versus the much smaller CCs on real 1873 (with arrows) SL Half Dollars.

There may be different styles of CC mint marks that I don't know about. Does anyone know of two different styles of CC mint marks on these coins?

Please compare this coin to the ebay auction ones and post your thoughts.

These two head dies do not have arrowheads at the date. Both have a "closed" style 3 in the date, and both are paired to the same tail die which has a small CC mintmark. (Breen'4973)

These two head dies have large arrowheads at the date, and both are paired to the same tail die which has a small CC mintmark. (Breen-4979)

The "cc" seems original to me. Looking at other "cc" on ebay they look like similar to the mint mark as on this suspect coin. There were no 1873 cc's to compare but I think it is genuine. There are obvious hair lines on the observe so that is distracting. The "cc" on your other photo looks more suspect to me as it is so micro in appearance.

Looks good to me also, the seller's negative feedback is all suspect too, especially from someone on ebay since 1988. I'd say the coin is fine, as is the seller. (Don't know him from Adam). It is pretty harshly cleaned by the looks of the photos however, a big distraction in my eyes, hence the $1,000 less sale price than it would bring as a full on AU in PCGS or NGC holder.

I've won a couple inexpensive items from this seller on ebay and consider him to be reliable and honest. I would be confident the coin is genuine, just cleaned and hairlined as noted, and "bargain priced" to compensate.

Doesn't seem to me like there's anything to worry about.
