Based on what you are collecting now or how close you are to finishing/ upgrading a set, what are your plans for 2012?

I set myself a budget of about $2,500 and have my eyes set on the following:

1936 Cincinnati set (p-d-s)

1972 ike ms65
1971 ike clad proof
1972 ike clad proof
1976 ike silver proof

1981 type 2 quarter
1981 type 2 dime

3 toned 50s quarters ms66

2000-s sac pr70
2008-s sac pr70
2010-s sac pr70
2011-s sac pr70
goodacre sac ms 65+

i'd say if I end up with 70% of these that i'd have a good, fun year.

My goals for 2012 with a limit of 5 grand (hopefully but 1 grand probably):

-Work on and complete my Lincoln Cent collection.
-Start Indian Head penny Collection
-Finish State Quarters.
-Buy America the Beautiful 2012 silver proof set.
-Start collecting Nickels and Halves.
-Upgrade from folders to albums.

That is what I can think of right now.

Well, I have to get every cent, nickel, dime, half, & dollar in each mint/composition.

I have to have rolls of each in P & D for my roll sets (excluding the president dollars).

I want to keep up with my bullion 5oz ATB's

I also would like time to catalog and move my best sets into air tights, 2x2's, and then into a binder by year. I like the look of each years coins on one or two pages. Looks really cool with the pre-1950's coinage. I keep the proofs and silver proofs in a safer location.

I also am over a year behind in my circulation sets and purchases. I have a large stockpile of rolls, change jars, & purchases still in wrapping piled up.

Oh! and for fun I will be working on the following sets:

BU Silver Washingtons and BU Franklins (if silver price is high)

or

AU Walkers and Fine Barbers (if silver price is low)

Don't know how I could set a limit for 2012. I'll try to finish one of the Morgan sets or maybe a Franklin set. Definitely attending the FUN show this year and that will probably set the tone for yearly spending.

also decided I was going to start searching half dollars with pennies.

1 each of the 2012 P&D Sac's and to acquire as much silver coin as far below melt as I possibly can. Pretty much the same plan I have every year.

Keeping up on 2012-1c,5c,10c,25c,50c,Sac,Prez,Proof set, Silver Eagles.
Then if silver stays down continue on Peace dollars[need 15] and work on my 7070 some more. Might throw in a few IHC and LWC if I find a good deal on the ones I still need.

I've made a resolution to finally stop jacking around talking about md'ing and actually start md'ing. I'm trying to work out a trade right now: silver for a pinpointeer.

As to my collection, other than keeping up with the moderns I'd like to finish my Roosies, take a big chunk out of the Kennedies, and nab / downgrade at least 10 of my Barber halves.

One coin left to complete my Washington silver set in BU: the biggie 32-D.
Four coins left in the WL Half short set, also in BU: 34-D, 34-S, 36-S, 39-S.

Probably going to concentrate on the modern PM issues, starting with the gold proof spouses, as well completing the platinum fractionals in proof & burnished $10 & $25, or at least try to. Going to get the '11 platinum $100 proof IF it falls below $1,592.00. And going the distance with the ATB pucks, bullion and collector. 2012 will be an expensive year, but so was 2011...

I would like to start a US type set with a nice Trade dollar, add as many 1700-1800s silver foreign coins as possible to my stash, and get at least 2 new 8 reales a month! Also would like to complete one or two years of my 3rd Reich all denomination/all mint mark set. (most dealers scoff at me over the grim purchases when I reveal this plan. I just love the history!)

My plan for 2012 is to purchase the 2011 and 2012 5 oz ATB coins (only have the 2010's so far), finish collecting the ASE and silver Maple Leaf sets (I have about half the coins for each set), and purchase a few nice coins for my fledgling 7070 set. Anything else will probably be impulse buys.
