I sell on both ecrater and ebay and was just curious how those of you who sell, store your inventory. I generally use the 2X2 cardboard boxes and a numbering system for each coin I sell. I have found that using a binder and 'super safe' non vinyl pages for my ecrater coins. I find this useful when and if I travel to shows with my coins.
Just trying to get more ideas I guess.

Almost all of the dealers have display cases of some sort. Weight, strength, and security are the biggest issues. Next issue is number of coins allowed to be fully displayed at one time. Not an easy egg to crack.

I sell on ebay and to private individuals and probably on a smaller scale than some of you seasoned vets. I keep EVERYTHING in a safe in the self adhesive 2x2s. I separate these by category (ie: my personal collection, items for sale, precious and non precious, Mexican and US etc) in the long cardboard rectangular prizm boxes designed for 2x2 storage. My 2 cents. :)

Welcome jeremy! Yeah, labeling is very important.
I'm pretty much doing what you are doing.

2 x 2 Mylar flips are popular, and rightly so, because the attribution goes with the coin on the flip.

Problem comes with PVC album pages. I am in the process of getting rid of ALL of my PVC album pages, and replacing them with soft clear polypropylene pages. Cost more but certainly worth the extra expense.

I notice that dealers use divider display cases for their higher value coins, but that does not suit me, when albums need to be conveniently stashed away.

Storage boxes with flips packed together do not suit me, because it is impossible to view a group of coins together. Better for a dealer, because boxed storage takes up less space. This is important, with large inventories, but a more sophisticated coin location and record system is required. Not a problem for me, the purchase infomation goes on the flip, a dealer may need to keep that information secret.

Thanks sel. I use mylar exclusively, nothing that is plasticized.
I once was going through a dealers box of AU/BU Mercury dimes, most were coated with green PVC, and when I opened the box, phew!
Potentially thousands of dollars of coins ruined.

vermontensium: I currently put my mylar flips into PVC album pages, but not for much longer! The flips are going into polypropylene pages that have pockets suitable for the 2 x 2 mylar flips.

It takes about 3 to 8 years for bronze / copper coins to darken in 2 x 2 mylar flips, stored in PVC album pages. That is way too short for me! Circulated silver coins are less sensitive to this sort of storage abuse, but they darken as well.
