By local, I mean any face to face transaction. Could be local coin shop, coin show, other members. Internet metal house means APMEX and the like. When I see a really good deal, and I can pry some loot out of the Mrs., I buy from APMEX. I'm always checking their Clearance section. Otherwise, I'm all local, cash only. Nobody needs to know what and how much I buy. I'm too much of a noob, so I steer clear of ebay. My friend who got me into metal investing spends hours a day on ebay, and scores some really good deals. He's picked up a couple platinum coins priced at silver.

all you new folk! "Hidbid.com to bid for you. " It ticks me off that the above exists, as if it is not important enough for you to be present when it ends, you don't deserve it IMO. Humans kill me, cutting every corner, trying every possible angle to try an get ahead. Idle time is the devil's play ground eh, lol..... As far as getting a seller to end early is a waste of time again in my experience say 9 out of 10 times anyway. If they wanted money now, they would slap a buy it now on the item, even though they do disappear after first bid, minus having a RESERVE. The point of the auction is to find just TWO interested party's to push it up, and you want it for less, so again find a price that is comfortable for dealer an seller right in the middle, an you might draw an early end. But I bet you will have to offer a bit more then just starting bid, esp if it is a low start like a buck, again from my experiences....

74- Not nearly as bad as the loser who wanted to know if I would take my time to illegally copy part of a record album he didn't win. Lemme think that over for a moment: NO!

Just seems a bit far fetched, but hey I have seen some crazy stuff on there. Not only price wise but just plain junk for $$$

He he he lol, that does not surprise me in the least. Perhaps one day we will all have a replicator like they have on Star Trek, and NOTHING at that point will be worth anything any longer, as you can simply just replicate another, lol....
Of course those old vinyls are really increasing in value these days, esp if it is great band an rare album in good shape with nice jacket an sleeve. To just have a recording would not be the same has having the original album, but a copy right infringement no doubt like you mentioned.....

I buy mostly from APMEX, Provident, and SilverTowne with 2 local coin shops and a pawn shop tossed into the mix. I usually score my best deals at the pawn shop, although he does not have a lot in the volume department. With him, it is usually 5-6 90% silver coins at a time. Most recent local buy was 5 very nice Peace dollars for $115.

I've bought mainly from a local shop. Last week I bought some rounds $30.30 and silver ASE $32.49. Stopped in tonight and bought a round $31.85 and a few ASE for $33.95. I'm pretty new and still learning. Have bought a few things from ebay too. Not real comfortable doing that yet. Trying to purchase a few ASE each week - it's not a lot, but it's something.

Bought the Vicksburg today at 204. Not bad since I wanted it because I've been there and not a bad price. I wonder where EdB has been?

"Vicksburg at 204"
Via a 5 oz America the beauty gem of a five ouncer Angel?
I would not mind a set of those, will increase in value nicely over spot that is for sure. They seem to be popular, is their design real nice in person, via the ol you just can't get a picture that does this piece justice....
I have never seen one in person....

Yes the vicksburg 5 oz. I got the Gettysburg for my kids and husband for christmas since they all have been there are history buffs. Just thought they would always be worth the silver value plus something nice. So since now the price has decreased to $204 just wanted to buy now before any possible increase since silver has been rising. I got the Gettysburg at 229. The 279 was just too steep for me but the lowered prices made me buy them. SOrry no picture. Back ordered plus done have a way to do so
