Looks good! Toning came out from NCS unscathed, it seems.

Beautiful coin. I wonder how many dies there are for the overdate?

Checked the NGC pops for the 1754 MoMM KM104.1: (28) MS60, (100) 61, (50) 62, (4) 63 KM104.1 (1) MS61.
I think everything from the Boliva hoard went through NCS.

Very nice 8R. This looks to be Gil M-8-43b (no lower arc on central reverse crown) 25-50 pieces known.

Westwood, Could you clarify the results for the 1754MoMM. Is the second number of 1 in MS61 for Crowns alike? You show the same KM number for both sets of figures. There can't possibly be 182 of the Crowns alike variety. I don't have a Krause to look up the KM number for the one I asked about. That must have been quite a hoard of Pillars to generate that many MS coins.

Wow, your coin is amazing jfransch ! Beautiful, in excellent condition, with an excellent patina and well cleaned from the green plague. And the overdate is just perfect ! A dream coin for those looking at this kind of coins ! (ok, it's not a 1733, but it's still awesome !)

It is not my coin (I wish) it belongs to TK who posted the pictures. It is a sweet coin. Hey TK, what are you going to do now that the NGC won't let people mix NGC and PCGS coins on the competitive collection site? I seem to remember you had some very nice coins in PCGS holders.

Nice coin - not much to add - except to state that within MS grades a weak strike will reduce the number. I have an NGC graded 1830's Zs that is an MS 60 because it is one of the weakest strikes I have seen - BUT there is NO circulation wear. MS is a different thing altogether.
Overall I still hate the Sheldon scale because in the end it is subjective.

Hey TK, what are you going to do now that the NGC won't let people mix NGC and PCGS coins on the competitive collection site? I seem to remember you had some very nice coins in PCGS holders. jfransch, NGC's decision made me take a hard look at what my collecting habits became and I realized that with the registry I started to sacrifice some of my initial principles about the quality and eye appeal of coins in my collection just to fill a registry slot. I started to get upset if one of the coins I liked didn't get the grade I thought it deserved, playing the resubmitting games, etc... In a nutshell, I started to worry about the holder more than the coin in it, which I am pretty ashamed to admit. I think I felt very partial to the registry also due to the fact that I helped put some of those sets together initially and I was happy to see that some of the categories started to get multiple collectors interested in creating their own sets. Having said that, I will not be crossing any of PCGS coins to NGC. I believe that NGC is just trying to do a quick cash grab on the cross-overs, because if they really felt that they are the market standard for World Coin grading, they would offer some kind of a grace period with free or discounted world coin cross-over service to NGC. Instead they took the "our way or the highway" approach and I don't like supporting companies that care little about customer experience. I deleted half of my competitive world sets, keeping just the Type Set and 2 War of Independence sets due to the fact that NGC is still better when it comes to identifying and encapsulating W4I coins. (Yes, even with that 1813 Durango screw-up). I am also keeping my signature set because they are allowing PCGS coins there for the time being. In the meantime, I'm also going to start working on my website where I'll be able to display my collection and have some research notes as I produce them without anyone telling me my coins are not worthy because they are raw or in a slab of a competitor. I'm also going to sell some pieces I compromised on just to fill a slot and focus on the look and feel I appreciate. So, overall, I think this move by NGC resulted in some positive change for me.

@ Westwood Arms - thank you for the Gilboy reference. I'm hunting for a copy right now and sent a note to guys @ Mexican Coin Company to see if they have one for sale before I debate shelling-out 200 GBP for it from a seller in UK.

The coin is actually a Gilboy M-8-42C, not the much rarer MoMM version. TK I will keep an eye out for you for a Gilboy book
