For my 500th post here at CFC I thought I'd put up a coin I recently sold last year to Heritage. The holder was one of the older ones and terribly scratched, the lines running vertically are not on the coin, I cropped enough of the holder so you could hopefully distinguish them from marks on the coin. What do you think this coin was graded at? Sorry for the slightly different sizes on the two sides, the coin was shot using different lighting than I'm using now, don't have the coin anymore so I have to work with what I got. I'll post the answer late Sunday night. "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. Feldman - "And read it" - Me 2013! I will say MS 64. Looks like someone slid that holder against the sidewalk ! Attractive toning on obverse.

Depending on the grader and the time graded I think it could go MS62/MS64. Nice coin. I like the toning also. Happy 500.

Based on the coin going to Heritage it would be a 65. Beautiful toner by the way. Maybe even a 66?

A couple marks in the reverse field are noticeable and the cheek and neck have a few minor marks. I'd give it a strict MS-64 but attractive toning, strong luster, and normal variation at PCGS could reasonably boost it to MS-65. I wouldn't think it qualifies for P-L based on these photos. Nice, appealing Morgan dollar!

I'll be optimistic with 66. It may be lower due to all of the marks I'm seeing being located in the primary focal areas. I'm not sure where that line is drawn.

I'm going to go with MS65 as well.
