I signed up last year when a few auctions looked promising, but everyone I've watched has gone for stupid, crazy high prices, maybe people are thinking it's for charity, but I doubt it.

Wish I could get prices like they do when I sell low end coins, silver seems to go for 25-40 times face, junk coins go for 20-50 times what I consider fair prices.

Anybody else used goodwill auction site?

I have used it to look, and I bought items that weren't coins. Prices there are high. Like the 1921 Morgan that looks cleaned XF with current auction price of $100 plus s&h

I am confused. Who is selling these coins? I just took a quick peek and can't believe what some of the "junk" silver is selling for. I wonder if anyone can sell on this site?

I noticed that there prices were high as well. For the lots that I have seen, I think people think they are unsearched and will find a hidden gem in there, but the pictures of the lot show it all. I have also seen lots on ebay from state treasuries go for more money then they should.

Oh my god. This coin here I can get at the local coin shop for $24-$25 as a retail customer.

Are people trying to be generous because it's Goodwill or are they just ignorant? Wow...

I'm guessing based on what it says in the About section that people are paying premiums because the money goes directly to the Goodwill nonprofit. Individuals don't sell there. It's all stuff that was donated to participating goodwill stores accross the country. At least that's what it SAYS! :)

I wonder if some people think the higher price is a "donation" and try to deduct it? That wouldn't be an option I'd think since you are receiving goods for said "donaition".
