I don't know how to categorize the defects on the reverse. The dark area at 7 o'clock is deeply indented. How would this be graded?

Appears to have gouges at 7:00, but the upper right quadrant looks like a major die crack framing an area where the die bulged and deformed. Still wouldn't kick this one out of my collection for eating crackers! Where do you find these great coins?

This one came from my late father's collection. Trying to find out what it would net out at.

Tough call. I think the 7R stuff is just PMD, but the 2R area looks like a partial planchet.

I'd grade it $800 retail.

I think we're talking well above $800. Looks at least F-15 detail, but I'm bad with grading these.

The details look way above $800 to me by themself... but not sure how much the damage brings it down to.

I would also put your coin at F15 details. Nice coin and the better of the two dates.
Value would be $1300-1500 minimum.

If the reverse issues are considered planchet flaws you might be able to consider this one problem-free. The obverse cleaning will likely be over-looked.

Value-wise, compare it to this $1155 (in Dec09) Fine Details piece: http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?hdnJu...=0&y=0#Photo

Here's the grade they gave it. I really don't think it's bent though VF20 is better than I expected.
