I took my son to tutoring and while he was busy I decided to go up the street to get a box of dimes. Of course, my first question is always "do you have any half dollars?" She said yes and bent down to grab a ziploc bag. The second I heard the jingle I said I'll talk the whole bag. She proceeds to dump the coins on the counter (ugh) and count them. $20.30 face value.

Check these babies out:

Face-Value-Score!

Also, there were 6 Ikes , several 2000 P Sacs, 3 or 4 Kennedys, and 4 SBAs!

I still can't believe it. I've never found Morgans in the wild, at the bank, or at a store, and certainly never for face value. But the real gem of the bunch is the quarter. I don't have any Barber quarters so I'm thrilled to add that to my collection. I also don't have an 1896 Morgan and this one is beautiful.

Congrats on this haul!

It is so hard to believe any teller would not see these, wonder about them, and not put them back for themselves!

But aren't we glad they didn't?

The customer didn't know enough to not turn them in at face value, the teller knew enough to set them aside, and yet didn't know enough not to give them away at face value? That's incredible.

Congrats on your score!
