Any idea why there is a hidden letter "D" near the top of the number 3?

Does it look raised or sunken, or something imprinted on the surface?

stevemyster...It looks highly unlikely that it is man made, because it is so small....Hope some one can come up with a reasonable explanation for it's existence.
