Poll Question
Hi everyone in Australia, I'm just curious as to how old everyone is. I'm not thirty yet, so I can luckily tick myself in a lower bracket...In a weeks time I'd have to tick a different bracket. I figure that there's no-one really young guys (less than 15) using these forums.

There's one under 13 Aussie that I know of and one 13 yr old US member. I'm sure there are many other teens too.
Hopefully, we'll get them to give us some input to this topic, but it might have been better in the 'Family' section as it would get many more responses there.

Aarong...I think I should use the word theoretically more often...it'll keep me out of more often. I should also never assume... Two of my worst character traits.

Good to know theres a few young people here :) Just suprising I started because if you asked my parents to tell you what a certain coin is, they wouldn't know, so I got interested in it with no-one to follow.

When I visit major coin shows, I have noted the age range of other people there. From that, I would guess the average age of the collecting Public would have to be around 35 years old. I was spending significantly large amounts of money on coins from about 16 years old. By the time I was 21, I had an Adelaide Pound in my collection. That was more than 40 years ago. It looks like my guesstimate of average age around 35 years old is somewhere near the mark.

Ask the question again in four more months and I'll have to change my vote, but as of right now I can still vote "30-39". And just for some comparisons, here are some earlier polls on the subject. This really old poll dates from the forum's founding in 2005. Another archived poll, from 2008. This poll is still open, posted in the Canadian section.

Looks like there's a few of us about to break into the next band - I'm also due in another week...
As for aarong, considering the number of times he's popped into this thread, I'm surprised he hasn't voted? We need someone representing the teenage segment lol
